I have been a witness to the ongoimg genocide and ethnic cleansing for many decades.
In the old days, George Habash and Leila Khaled were heroes of a Resistance that should have swept like wildfire throughout the world and George Kirmiz was its voice. Events were inspired with his songs.
He never put hinself forward and he was a little unpopular in certain quarters because he was shy I think.
His music is powerful and authentic. He lived through nightmares in Lebanon that are being repeated now in Gaza and the Bank. His music is part of the very fabric of my soul and always will be.
